winds of change....

that name might be familar to some of you who read this site. no, it's not the founder of Lincoln Christian, but his son. he is now the lead pastor at Willow Creek where Kristie and i are currently attending church. he spoke the other day about the winds of change. Willow Creek is celebrating it's 30th anniversary and he was talking about how his life has had changes and how God has lead him to different areas in life, including coming to Willow Creek recently. it was excellent. i really enjoyed what he said about prayer for God to give us the 'miracle of the second wind'. praying for God to give us the strength to make life changes is healthy and it's what He wants us to do. He longs for us to ask Him for the help is ready to give. i am praying for the miracle of the second wind to carry through this life change. the winds of changes are blowing.....

I'm already doing it....

so, Kristie and i have been struggling with not knowing what God wants us to do next. not sure where i should be looking for jobs or where we should live. Kristie is doing a Beth Moore bible study right now and i've been watching it too. the study is called Believing God and it's about believing God is who He says He is and can do what He says He can do.

one thing that she had said was to ask God do it. "Do something God, do something big in my life!" not being sure what to pray, just pray that God do something. so i began to pray that prayer on my way to work last week and as i prayed, i sensed God saying to me, "I already am..." i said again, "I just need you to do something God." and again came, "I already am..." i then started to pray that God help my unbelief, like the man in Mark chapter 9. i believed that God could do it but was struggling with believing that He would.

right before i pulled in to work, my friend Grant called me and as we spoke he offered this scripture, "Before they call I will answer; while they are still speaking I will hear." Is 65:24

God reminded me again after work and the next morning that He was already doing something in our lives. my prayer now is that He does do something and that Kristie and i do not miss it.

Father, help me....
my heart is in chains and i cannot break free. i'm hardened. burdened. i ask in Jesus' name that you come rescue me. lift me up over these mountains. carry me on wings, so high. take away all this sadness, but let me not forget so that i don't find myself here again. make your Word come alive in my heart. i want your mouth to leap off the pages and speak directly into my soul. i need to be held by you, cradled like a newborn. i must draw near to you again. my Father, comfort me....

hey there,
we're doing pretty good here in Chicago. i'm working out for the Chicago Rush on wednesday and then we're off to St. Louis for the weekend. i have a couple meetings and we are going to get some things out of storage. looking at new careers is crazy. i think that i've found some things that interest me. pharmecutical sales, home building, pizza place managing.... there are some options. we'll see how Arena League looks after this workout. Kristie has been looking at houses in St. Louis again. we can't wait to move back, if that's what God wants.
