bowling for band members....

ah.... i'm sitting down for a bit while kristie makes dinner.

so, saturday night was a good night. got free tickets for the Blindside, P.O.D. concert through a contact at the Pageant. Scotty Tercero and his ladie went with me and a good time was had by all.

i met up with Judah, the roadie from P.O.D. that i've been talking to online and we had a little chat. yadda, yadda, yadda, he comes back with VIP passes and we hooked up after the show.

so Smitty, the security guy comes and gets us and we go up and hang out for a while with Wuv (P.O.D. drummer), Jason (P.O.D. guitarist, formerly of Living Sacrifice), and the guys from Blindside. we stayed in the dressing room for a while and then they wanted to go bowling next door. and that's what we did! we walked over next door and got on a lane. 20 bucks down, six guys on the lane, andy bowls a 135 and walks away with 120 of band per diem(if that's how you spell that). it was a good night. the guys are really cool and laid back. i'm hoping to make it to Cornerstone this year and hang out with them again.

like a dope, i didn't take my camera with me, so here are some shots from my cameraphone.

there should be a picture of me and Scotty with Simon from Blindside on their site soon.

our new daughter....

here is a picture of our new "daughter". her name is Daina Kinabudi. she is four years old and will turn five on October 8th. she is from Kenya. we are sponsoring her through Compassion International.

we had a great message on love today. it was really great. we talked about the the story of the leper in Mark. Jesus had a ministry of embracing people. the leper was untouchable by other people, yet when Jesus healed him, he touched him. He didn't have to, but He did it because that's what that man needed. no one else would touch him, so Jesus did.

i'll write about the concert tomorrow. i have a good story about that too.

four to go, so long huff n' stuff.....

well, the time had to come eventually. george is gone. i guess i never really thought that he would make it all the way, but had high hopes for him. i really enjoyed his voice and personality. i'm going to miss him. here's the run down for the rest of the show:

Jasmine goes next, then Diana, with La Toya and Fantasia in the top 2.

that's my guess. we're rooting for fantasia to win the whole thing. we'll see....

back in business....

so i took my iPod back into the apple store today and they handed me a new one. that was easy. (sorry Phil) so, i'm back in the mix if you will, and i'm pretty happy about it.

it was nice. my warranty was still valid and the exchange was no problem. if it had been a few days later, without the applecare prgram, i would have had to pay another $30 to get my replacement iPod.

it's nice how God doesn't do that. when we come to God with our dirty, sinful, broken trash selves He could say, "sorry, your warranty is past due, we can't do anything for you. you're welcomed to purchase a new you." or "that's going to be $$$ to fix this. come back in a couple weeks, we're going to have to send this broken you back to the manufacturer for repair." He doesn't do that though. instead, God says, "here, here is My Son. He has paid the price for your broken self. believe in Him and you will recieve your new self." we didn't come with a warranty, we are "as is" and God doesn't care. He wants us with Him, so he took care of the repair fees ahead of time, so that when we realize we are broken we only need to humbley come to Him and He'll take us back, no questions asked.
